Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome commonly called AIDS is a life-threatening microbial disease that attacks the defense system. Caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), AIDS progressively reduces the ability of the body to combat infections and diseases. Transmission of HIV primarily occurs through contact with infected blood, semen, or
